I was walking in the woods today, and found some beautiful small worlds beneath my feet!
It is so magical when you find something ordinary that looks extraordinary when you just focus and let your eye frame it. A little bit of sun and there you have magic!

Working on a new piece!

I am trying to keep away from my favorite color pallet so here we go. Hopefully when I am finished with this painting I will not have gone back to my usual reds and yellows.

I am also trying to add a lot more flow by using very organic thin lines. We will see how it turns out!

Vacation!

I must be completely nuts! Went to beautiful, tropical, colorful, lush Hawaii and was drawn to a lovely dry leaf. Here are some of the beauties:

Light, shade and structure!

I found two lovely little mushrooms growing in my grass today. Getting close enough to see the light shine right through the delicate structure gave me a very serene and peaceful feeling.

Last day of the month!

Here we are at the end of April already and spring is trying to make it's way to New Hampshire. This beautiful plant is trying its best to come out of hiding.
I love the gentle iridescent leaves and the rich colors!

Shapes
Here are some of my beach rocks. For as long as I can remember, I have collected rocks. I especially love these round gray ones from our New England beaches! Their shapes are so different from the sharp cut wood in my last entry. (I usually keep a small one in my purse for good luck)
